Ugh. I know, right?! So many beautiful clothes all in one post. Feeling endlessly grateful for the phenomenal opportunity of teaming up with River Island to take you guys on a little tour of our new LA home, as part of their “At Home With…” series on the Style Insider blog 🙂 All in all we got three looks, multiple key pieces for the season, and a bunch of concrete floors. Let’s break it down by looks.
Let’s start it off dapper with the first look: a light blue oxford, combined with a camel colored waistcoat (watch chain included ;), on top of a pair of slim, grid-patterned, skinny, cropped dress pants. I could’ve added a few more adjectives to describe those if necessary. Ha. The shoes are an essential part of the look, tying it all together as the dark colored basis. I’m casually leaning next to our DIY’d (thanks Lisa) IKEA wardrobe, and our temporary racks, while the gorgeous day bed, coffee table and chair all hail from Modernica in the living room. I thought the look embodied the vibes of the interior, to create a classy and bright overall feel. The key piece for me here is the vest, infinitely versatile, great as a mid-layer but as I hopefully proved, a strong top layer as well.
Next up we have a lot more of a grungy look, more comfortable, perfect to hang out in at home and do some work. Granted, I don’t often wear a beanie inside, especially in LA, but believe it or not, it was kind of chilly, and I didn’t want to miss out on showing you guys how well it went with the look. The beauty of the jersey should not have to be pointed out, which is my key RI piece for the season with regard to street style. The lovely vintage table we’re working at was actually a great find at a little interior design studio, and the wire chairs on which the super dope low-top sneakers are chilling on is from CB2. Modern, edgy, to the point — match made in heaven.
Last but certainly not least, we have the neatly prepped look resting on the Modernica bench. I put this on to leave the house in, with Lisa by my side, and this knitted perfection on my back. The jacket is probably my overall highlight of the shoot, from the simple, large buttons, to the fit of the garment, to the fabric… especially the fabric. This thing is gorgeous. But the rest of the look is equally strong, with a great fitting grey jersey shirt, and immaculate nude colored jeans, only to be elevated by the gorgeous boots. I’m running out of positive adjectives here, but I was simply out of this world when I got my order from RI and all these pieces just fit like they were supposed to, looking like they do, at the price they cost — River Island definitely has a big fan in me now. How do you guys feel about the pieces? Any favorites?
