Walking through the booths of the PROJECT show in New York, which is now at the Jacob Javits center, I picked out 6 of my favorite bags that caught my attention. Starting out, we have a light grey Ben Minkoff, with the (already) classic two-colored stripe detail, which is continued in the zipper. The light grey makes it perfect for the Spring/Summer 2015 season (which is when all of these bags come out!!) and it’s sleek shape allows for it to be easily worn with a suit.

Next up, we have the fantastic leather goods company Horn Leather, which doesn’t only do bags, but definitely knows how to. Below we have a utilitarian tote made of mixed materials. What I love about this bag are the color shades, the combination of the worn-in brown, with the khaki bottoms, and the olive green handles. Ideal for a very Americana, laid-back look.

Let’s move to something more contemporary, edgy, and daring — part of the TMRW section at PROJECT for up and coming designers, was Peter Non. His work is all handmade in Italy, and has a very interesting twist on classics in footwear, but also produces bags like the below. The over-sized, unconstructed bag is hand stitched, and its rough look makes it perfect to add a little something special to any look that has some sort of street element in it.

Not going to lie, in terms of practicality, this guy is in the lead: a rucksack by Troubadour, a UK leather brand, creating bags of outstanding quality, hand-stitched designed with well though-out compartments and features. Notice on the back side of the bag an integrated laptop sleeve, on the outside of the bag! I especially loved the below color — a very unique backpack, made for suit and jeans alike — a masterpiece.

Yes, Ben Minkoff made the cut twice. The brand focuses exclusively on bags and it shows. We’re talking about SS15 here, so obviously we needed something canvas in the mix, and definitely something stripe. Ben minkoff knows that, and combined the two into one for one of the most on trend bags of the season.

A company with more than 30 years experience in producing high-quality leather goods is WILL. Out of the myriad of bags they had available at PROJECT NYC, I loved the backpack the most, with the achromatic mixed material and the very light window-pane pattern on the light grey waxed canvas fabric.
