BIKE: Single Bikes
—
Let’s talk about the obvious first: I got a new bike. And I happen to like my bikes like my suits — custom-made. Single Bikes is an absolutely awesome site where you can put your own “fixie” together. The trend of fixed bikes is huge since the bike messengers in NYC started riding them. I personally like having a couple of gears, but love the aesthetic of a fixie. Lucky me, this is easily done on the SingleBikes.com. I wanted to go with something special, but at the same time something that would go easily with whatever I’m wearing. What better choice than a black and white bike, with a white frame and chain, a black bull-horn handle-bar, and reversed tires on the front and back. Right after this shoot, I rode it back home from Manhattan all the way to Flatbush, and I gotta say: it feels friggen’ amazing. The internal hub is phenomenal and the breaks are fantastic. I’m absolutely happy with this bike and would recommend it to anybody out there on the hunt for a solid bike.
As for the outfit: a shirt-jacket, how dope?! AX is all about the “indoor-gone-outdoor” idea and I’m right with them. The thick wool kept me warm over the striped t-shirt. Clearly the backpack goes wonderfully with the aesthetic of the bike, making me a somewhat classy bike messenger 😉 Packing out the boots as the temperatures start dropping, I am happy to be wearing my Walk-Over boots again, and since headphones on a bike can be dangerous, I decided to wear a necklace instead, haha.
I really like the this outfit. Casual and really hot, and also the necklace is so cute.
