It’s time for “the talk” guys. Underwear. Let’s be honest, it’s a little weird. But ‘ey, wouldn’t you share something awesome that you stumbled upon? Let’s go past the awkward into the comfort zone. Perfect segue: Subtle, convenient, and oh so comfortable – underwear by Tommy John. I had the opportunity to review their product, and here is the result:
Starting off with the Stay-Tucked undershirt; as the name implies, it should stay tucked, and I’m relatively positive this is the first one that actually does stay tucked. It’s fantastic – a simple white undershirt, smooth on the skin, hugging your torso, which is longer than usual and very lightweight. Bottom line about undershirts is, that even though they make you a tad warmer in the hot summer weather, if you wear them under a woven shirt, they will definitely spare you embarrassing sweat stains in bad places. This shirt is the way to go.
For the bottom part, I wanted to try out the Second Skin Trunks, which have an even more delicate fabric than the top, namely a 90/10 Modale/Spandex mix. All black. I know, I know – this is a fashion blog. What about brands like Diesel or Calvin Klein that have gained a lot of popularity from their colors and big logos? Tommy John gives you something else, maybe more important: I don’t usually (meaning at least 51% of the time) walk around showing off my underwear, but I do want to feel comfortable wearing them. Don’t you agree? P.S. they do have fashion pieces also, just not a fashionable RTW name to go with it.
And a bonus, which I have never seen anywhere else – which didn’t even ever come to mind, though it seems so simple – a horizontal “quick-draw-fly”. Boom. I can’t even explain it, wear them and experience the simplicity. Groundbreaking.
So if you’re on the lookout for some new undergarments that’ll make you feel like you’re not wearing any – Tommy John. Period. (Since I am a man, this is not an awkward word to use for ending an underwear-review.)
