Colour

The sun is out, birds are singing and people have smiles on their faces throughout the city, which can only mean one thing: spring is in full swing… and with that, if you’re anything like me, the affinity for color.

In today’s post we’re going to take a closer look at a couple of ways to style bright, stand-out colors, in partnership with Barbour! Their new *pop* tartan collection is embracing coloring in a very classy way, with bold colors, muted enough to be easily worn, especially with the other pieces of the collection. In look number one, I’m wearing the blue version of the Awe Casual jacket, paired with the blue and green Toward shirt. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Barbour does plaids like no other, and the colors within the shirt and even with the jacket just work seamlessly. I even managed to add in a pair of emerald suede sneakers, and just made sure to separate it with a pair of more neutral, tan cargos.

For look number two, I chose to style the yellow Awe jacket with the red Toward Shirt. I don’t mean to sound repetitive, but the colors simply work again, this time in the red color spectrum, and *again* even allowing for the marigold suede sneakers to be tied in seamlessly. What’s very different in this look is the overall vibe though, through styling and the fabrics I chose to pair the pieces with: the shirt I wore unbuttoned for the most part, on top of a thick white cotton tee, and a pair of washed out light colored jeans. Definitely more on the relaxed and youthful side, it still is a more mature look, due to the innate feel of the Barbour pieces.
