What a trip. I was absolutely ecstatic when I got the invitation to visit Amsterdam and the G-Star RAW factory — even aside from the fact that Pharrell was gonna be there, but that definitely raised the bar much higher! Recently, Pharrell acquired part of the company, and is now co-owner and “Head of Imagination” of the Dutch label.

I was really into G-Star right before I moved to the US, in Europe they had a very different position in the market, but I honestly lost focus on the brand for a while.. until recently. What they have shown in the recent runway shows is absolutely incredible, really redefining, modernizing and minimizing the brand while keeping the essence alive.

3-D denim construction, unique collaborations, outstanding knowledge of denim and recent sustainability efforts have really helped turn the brand back around. Pharrell is playing a big part in the sustainability of the brand, as his collection is using recycled plastic gathered from the ocean and is replacing the nylon which was used before. G-Star is invested in making that a company wide strategy.

With all this said, I’m stoked to be back in touch with the brand, and I’m madly in love with the outfit above, which is pretty much had-to-toe from G-Star. The white boots are absolutely dope, and the unique print on the blazer freaking insane. The “Elwood” jeans style is easily a new favorite in my closet, in this grey as well as a white pair. Thoughts on your end?
