As most of you probably know, I spent the Thanksgiving Day Weekend on the Hawaiian island Kauai, and oh. my. god. It was so absolutely and stunningly beautiful that words fail to describe it. Not only the island itself, but also our home away from home, the Koloa Landing Resort, was breathtaking. It reflected the beauty of the island in many ways, from the flora and fauna that was well integrated into the entire property, to the waterfalls in the pool all the way to the relaxed and warm feeling you got just strolling around. The fact that there was still construction going on (can only imagine what it’s going to look like afterwards …) was a minor drawback, that we could easily overlook, as all activities are currently on the opposite side of the resort. We had a fantastic 1-bedroom suite overlooking the ocean, and while the sun was hiding away for most of the time, we had in incredible experience.

The hotel was conveniently located for us to venture out every day: kayaking, hiking, ATVing and helicopter tours, we did it all, not without help from the lovely concierge Yuki. All in all, a wonderful trip, and I’d recommend both the Koloa Landing Resort as well as the island of Kauai to any Hawaii-bound traveller!
