Fall is my favorite seasons. Why, you ask? ‘Cause I LOVE outerwear and I get to layer!! I’m proud to announce that I’ve partnered with H&M and ShopStyle for today’s post, showing you a beautiful, versatile jacket that may just get you through the entire fall season … for $129!! To show you how versatile this grey melange wool coat really is, I created three looks with other pieces from H&M.
First up, we have a casual take on the classic silhouette of the jacket: I combined it with a beautiful two-toned waffle-knit sweater, a pair of medium-blue, classic jeans with a raw hem, and a pair of dark brown faux-suede chelsea boots. The entire look feels put together, but relaxed at the same time. Flipping up the collar and pushing up the sleeves came to me naturally, just based on the vibes I was getting. While I usually enjoy matching colors as much as possible, I liked the combination of several tones here which, while complementary, are not identical.
But of course, the jacket is a very classy piece, and as such, it made for an ideal pairing with a suit. Now you know me, and yes, sometimes I take a suit all the way to the fancy end of the spectrum, but I still felt a bit more casual, so I took the patterned navy suit and paired it with a light-weight, off-white turtleneck, and a pair of minimal, white sneakers. Over all, the look is a lot more elevated than the first one, but it still feels young and fresh. The beauty of the color of the jacket, is that you could literally wear this over any suit, from black to charcoal to tan, navy and green, it really doesn’t matter.
Speaking of working with several colors, I lastly wanted to show how the coat could even work on the more “street” side of “One Dapper Street,” using a bordeaux hoodie as a mid-layer underneath the coat and on top of a grey, long-sleeve henley. It’s not quite winter yet, but I’ve grown to be a fan of ‘winter whites,’ so I don’t even bother stopping once the summer is over and pretty much just wear white year-round, and I think these ripped jeans are as good an inspiration to do so as any. A black pair of combat boots really takes the edge off the look, and ties the dark jacket into the look.
If you need any more convincing to get a jacket this versatile, let me know, I’ve got more looks coming 😉 And if this is not so much your style, either this double-breasted alternative or this puffer jacket could be for you?!
