A big thing that we have been seeing on the streets and in magazines is layering suit separates with down vests – and those in color. They make for a great variation and piece to layer, replacing a sweater or cardigan, or even adding it to them. You can wear the vest over the blazer or underneath it – if you still feel a little insecure about this look, but want to try it, I’d recommend it underneath the blazer, just to make it more subtle. So let’s look at how I integrated this vest into the look.
The vest itself is from Uniqlo – great fit, simple design, ideal color for the spring and boy it keeps you warm… My shirt is from Marc by Marc Jacobs, and I love the red contrast buttons as well as the parrot print on it. The shirt’s color itself is great and goes with the navy suit jacket by Hugo Boss. The pants are from Michael Andrews Bespoke, where one of my best friends works part-time as a tailor. Aldo Wingtip Brogues – as always an easy add on to the look. The day before I had stumbled upon an Surface to Air sample sale (YES! I LOVE NEW YORK) and got this amazing backpack.
Look around, try and spot some of these vests on people and in stores and give it a shot yourself!
