Raw Stripes

Oh denim – how often I have already talked about you. Do you know why it’s called “raw” denim? Well, I guess it’s quite obvious. It’s raw. Ha. But what exactly does that mean?! Usually when denim is produced, it is pre washed for us, the consumer. That makes it not only brighter, but through different tools, companies give it a certain love, like stone wash, acid wash or bleached. Raw denim, like my pants in this picture, are unwashed, and therefore stiffer, darker and you might wanna be careful when it comes to washing them, because they’re not preshrunk either.

I started out here, with said pants and a striped T-shirt. I really like this on, because it’s not just stripes, but you have a little variation and color-blocking. On top of that, I wore my Asos denim ombre jacket. I thought it contradicted the flow of the T-Shirt nicely. Playing off of the stripes, I wore my Asos Pocket Square in my denim jacket. The cognac wingtipsare a nice little color addition, and in sync with the minimalistic wrist accessories I got going on here – Tevin Vincent skull bracelet, as seen many times before, and Casio watch. The sunglasses match the look of the style perfectly if you ask me, and finally I busted out my Marc by Marc duffle bag. All in all – those are some “raw” “stripes”. (I know it’s lame, but you try and come up with a different name every day, HA.)

Ach, jetzt hab ich Euch schon so viel über Denim erzählt, wisst ihr wofür “Raw Denim” denn steht? Naja, “raw” bedeuete “roh”. Habt Ihr Euch gedacht, ha. Aber ich meine warum nennt man es “roh”?! Normalerweise bei der Herstellung von Denim Produkten, wird die Ware gewaschen bevor sie auf der Verkaufsfläche landet. Das macht sie nicht nur heller, sondern in der Regel verwendet der Hersteller auch gleich verschiedene Methoden um dem Denim einen bestimmten Look zu verpassen wie “Stone Wash”, “Acid Wash” oder einen “Bleached Look”. Raw Denim, wie hier meine Hose in dem Outfit, ist nicht gewaschen, daher dunkler, steifer und was auch wichtig zu wissen ist, ist dass die Hose eventuell noch eingeht da sie nicht gewaschen ist.

Mein Outfit hab ich hier mit meiern Hose und dem gestreiften T-Shirt angefangen. Ein T-Shirt, das ch echt mag, weil es nicht einfach nur gestreift ist, sondern ein bisschen Variation dabei hat, auch mit “Color-Blocking”. Die Asos Jeans Jacke hat gut zu genau dem gepasst, und mein Einstecktuch bringt noch mehr Streifen ins Spiel. Meine Cognac-farbenen Wingtip Brogues geben dem ganzen noch etwas mehr Farbe, und sind passend zu meinen minimalistischen Handgelenk Accessoires – Totenkopf Armband von Tevin Vincent und Uhr von Casio. Die Sonnenbrille passt optimal zu dem Look, und letztendlich habe ich meinen Marc By Marc Duffle Bag dazu getragen. Fazit ist der Titel – “Raw” “Stripes”. (Sehr kreativ, ich weiss. Ha-ha. Versucht Ihr mal tagtäglich mit Titeln anzukommen. Ha.)
