Walking the line …
… between casual and dressy. I had an interview today for an International Student Scholarship at FIT (it went well thanks for asking), yet I didn’t feel like suiting up, so I “walked the line”:
The Marc by Marc Jacobs blazer is very slim fitted, and with the three buttons buttoned up has a very traditional look – that’s why I didn’t button it, pushed the sleeves back and wore it with this H&M dress shirt. Yes, it’s a dress shirt and it is tucked in, but sleeves are also pushed up, cuffs casually flipped around the blazer and the top buttons are unbuttoned. Jeans, also H&M, are denim but they’re super nicely fit and I’m not wearing them baggy at all, like a pair of slacks. The shoes represent this idea perfectly – sneaker but wingtip, by Aldo’s.
So if you have to dress up, but just don’t want to, work around it and still dress the part. It’s so important to feel comfortable in what you wear – your own judgement is part of how other people will perceive you.
Very elegance! I love the bag!
