Stylish Vision

I still remember the day the doctor told me I had an eye of an eagle. Probably the proudest moment of my young life at that point, and something that stuck with me ever since. I’ve always had 20/20 vision, and still do, even though I wear minimal prescription glasses that sharpen and add contrast to things in the far distance, which is important to me as I concern myself with photos and videos on a daily basis. With all of this, I’m beyond stoked to announce that the sponsor for today’s post is LensCrafters, and I got to shoot 10 incredibly awesome and versatile specs and shades to show to you guys.

Let’s start off with two classic Ray-Ban silhouettes, the Wayfarer and the Clubmaster in the optical version of the adorned sunglass originals. Both beautiful, versatile styles that will forever be stylish. I love the Wayfarer’s clean aesthetic of the light silver, delicate frame, while I appreciate the Clubmasters stronger aesthetic, combining silver with the strong black acetate in the frame of the glasses.

Next up we have a couple of options for fans of rounder specs, both by Giorgio Armani . The first is almost see-through, a delicate option that has an inherent antique beauty, a closer look will reveal the minute detailing on the temples of the glasses, as well as the choice to contrast the tarnish silver of the frame with the gold nose pads — truly an artistic choice. The second being equally as much of a statement, with the brown and blue tortoise frame and gold detailing. The shape is a bit more oval than the first, yet still has a beautifully distinct look to it.

The two pairs of sunglasses I included are from Ray-Ban and Ralph Lauren . Since Ray-Ban released the Hexagonal shades I’ve been a fan and that hasn’t changed since: beautifully sleek, modern design that has an edge (or six) to it, endlessly versatile in the classic brown glass and gold metal combination. The Ralph Lauren shades seem pretty straight forward, a classic, timeless choice if you’re looking for black shades, but the shape of the frame is what surprised me: curved in a way that they almost hug your face, effectively blocking out more light without losing any of the aesthetic appeal.

One of my personal favorite shapes is a rounded rectangle like the two you’re seeing below: a blue and brown acetate frame for the Ray-Bans and a black acetate frame on the option from Giorgio Armani. The former is almost a square shape, and I particularly like the color combination chosen, while the latter is closer to a rectangle, a shape I think is rather flattering for a longer face such as mine.

Lastly, let’s get into a couple of statement round shapes with thick frames, one from Ralph Lauren, combining black acetate with gunmetal temples, the other, from Ray-Ban, combining dark and light tortoise in a uniquely beautiful way, making it one of my favorite pair of glasses from the entire selection.

I hope you guys enjoyed diving deep into eyewear today, but beyond the aesthetic considerations, make sure to get your eyes checked regularly! Being a design-oriented person, vision itself is so important to me, but aside from that you can scan for other eye-unrelated diseases through your eyes, so it never hurts to be on top of it!
