The One Thing

You know how when you leave the house right before you go to the airport, you run down your mental (or hopefully physical) checklist 17 times to make sure you got everything, but one thing always ends up missing. I feel like it’s almost a law: it is not possible to actually bring everything you want to bring. Might not be a general law, but I know it doesn’t only apply to me — back me up here guys. So in any case, I arrived at the hotel in Paris, lay down on my bed, and as I wanted to get ready, I noticed that this time I didn’t pack my razor… which is quite problematic if you wanna fit in with the sleek Parisians. Luckily, as you guys know, I’m partnering with Gillette, so I hit them up and asked about the best solution. The answer: The Gillette3 (known in Paris as the Mach3 Start). It’s a super affordable on-the-go option – just $7.99 in the US for either a razor handle with 2 cartridges, or for 4 refill cartridges – so I don’t feel too bad switching back to my Fusion5 ProShield when I’m at home again. But while I was away I still got the clean, comfortable shave we’re all used to from Gillette.

So I lathered up with the Gillette shave gel and went about my business in the sleek, all-black Parisian bathroom. The sun was breaking into the room, I had some relaxing music playing, and hopped in the shower right after. Talk about a soothing ritual to fight that jetlag.

Minutes later I was back to normal, enjoying the view of the Parisian streets with a cup of coffee and ready to hit the road. I gotta say there are not a lot of cities in the world (and I’ve been to a handful by now) that have the same effect on me as Paris does. I find beauty in every corner there, and even just a short 48 hour trip to a less-than-ideal, cold Paris was still a great experience — the shave definitely helped though. 😉
