The Watchmaker

Fine watches have always held a certain mystery in my eyes. The intricacy that goes into creating a wrist-size clock that accurately tells the time. The more I dive into the field, the more I learn, and the more I understand why they are as highly valued as they are. A couple weeks ago I was invited by today’s sponsor, Breitling, to the American Breitling HQ in Connecticut to participate in a watchmaking workshop, which was a truly eye-opening experience. Aside from the impactful history of the brand (basically: Breitling is the reason we now have a crown with two pushers), actually going through the process of taking apart and reassembling popular Breitling caliber 17, placing balance wheel which is the heart of the watch, back into the movement and experiencing the accuracy of regulating the watch to Breitling Factory Standards first hand, my appreciation for the industry and the brand have sky rocketed! Take a look at my fit for the occasion, as well as a few shots from the event.
