Shades and Lids

You like Millinery? This might just be for you …

Last Saturday, I’ve been to the Met in NYC to see the new “Impressionism, Fashion and Modernity” exhibit. It focuses on the time period of 1860-1880, when Paris was the fashion capital of the world. (For more on this exhibit, look out my post on it.) One of the rooms was dedicated to menswear, and I was honestly surprised that we even got a full room since men’s formal wear really hasn’t evolved that much over the past decades. What I’m trying to get at is – there were all these top hats, which had been such an integrated part of men’s fashion back then, but slowly had made a disappearance. Well now they’re back and trending – in all forms and shapes and fabrics… and combined with various shapes of sunglasses at that!
