Cusco diaries

Cusco. The fourth biggest city in Lima, and the base camp for basically everyone who wants to visit one of the new wonders of the world – Machu Picchu. I’ll post about Machu Picchu itself soon, but Cusco is just as worthy of a post, with all the beauty it has to offer. We arrived in the morning and stayed at the magnificent Aranwa Hotel.

off the cliff

Houses right on the cliff, which is decorated by the beautiful flowers of Lima – a well known picture, especially if you’ve ever googled “Lima”. What’s wonderful about that, is that it’s fairly easily accessible for a regular person, and you don’t have to fly a helicopter to get that same view of the skyline, like many other pictures of other skylines 🙂 …

green grass

When you shoot every day, obviously you gotta keep things fresh in terms of photography, so here we played around a little bit with Nikon’s 24-70mm f/2.8 that I borrowed from Borrow Lenses. It’s a great lens, which I probably wouldn’t use every day though, that’s why I love renting gear.

6 pm, Lima

Ahhhh Lima – warm weather, magnificent food and strikingly beautiful sunsets. The first look we shot right around the time when the sun set, and I was wearing something very chill, and heavy on florals. I am absolutely loving the black floral shoes, and this summer season it’s going to be all about nicely fitting chinos like these for me.

Personal Affairs

A personally tailored suit, oh how I dreamt of this. The first suit I ever got personally tailored is from Reiss. I went with a blue fabric with a subtle plaid pattern. You know how I love double-breasted blazers at the moment, so I went with a 6-button, peak-lapel, double-breasted three-piece suit, with tapered, short, cuffed pants.

Brooklyn Safari

I recently went on a little shopping spree at AX and fell in love with the urban traveler’s look that a lot of the pieces have going on. Here I combined a few earth-toned pieces, going for a relaxed summer look.
