Basically Barefoot

I might be one of the biggest shoes fanatics, but at the end of the day, I love walking around barefoot: light, comfortable, natural… even with the temperatures slowly rising in NYC, that’s not necessarily the best option in the city. Luckily there’s a pair of shoes that splits the difference just perfectly: Sanuk, with whom I partnered for today’s post. Sanuk recently launched the Chiba Quest Knit for $85, and I took them for a stroll.

From the first moment I tried the shoes on, I could feel the air breeze through the black and grey knit-fabric, the comfort of the sole, inspired by  the classic Sidewalk Surfer. The sporty reinterpretation is definitely much more up my alley, and the outfit just feel into place: white skinny jeans, a simple grey t-shirt topped off with a black denim jacket, thus replicating the color-scheme of the show, white on the bottom and black and grey up top. The look was a bit to basic for me since the sneakers are have a fun design, so I added a watch, a bracelet, shades and a fanny pack — cause we all know they’re trending and they’ve actually reaaaally grown on me.

I walked around Washington Square Park with Bryant on a sunny day, and the shoes absolutely lived up to the expectations. Even after a couple hours of strolling and jumping around — yes I basically am an 8 year old — the comfort was undeniable. If you have the chance, go into a store and try them out for yourself, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed! Thank you guys so much for reading, and I’ll see you soon with the next post! Cheers, Marcel
