Denim Wonderland

Today we’re going to dive deep into the topic of jeans; the colors, washes, fits and five brands you will want to keep an eye out for, but let’s rewind for a second. The year is 2011, I had just moved to NYC, and it’s my first December in the city. Strolling down 5th Avenue I walk past the most amazing window-presentation and light show. That’s when I first discovered the world of Saks 5th Avenue, and have since explored it more and more, through my studies at FIT, my internships during my bachelors degree, personal shopping sprees, and my work as a fashion blogger. Being one of NYC’s top shopping destinations in general, you should definitely know about Saks Fifth Avenue, this is especially true for their denim section, so I’m excited to be introducing you five of their top denim brands today, in partnership with the retailer and Shopstyle!

Look number one features a pair of dark blue skinny jeans from AG Jeans, a brand I’ve worn and loved for several years now. The modern fit combined with the classic indigo colors makes for an ultimately versatile pair of jeans, styled here with a yellow hoodie and a black jacket up top.

For those that like a light wash, take a look at the Paige jeans I wore for look number two. Super comfortable, yet slim fitted, I chose to wear these with a Bordeaux bomber jacket and matching chucks, and then balanced the color out with a grey t-shirt. I’ve had many Paige jeans in my life, having been an ambassador for the brand in 2018 and am still more than happy to add a new pair to my closet.

If you’re more of a straight fit guy, this pair of slim straight 7 For All Mankind jeans might be right up your alley. You guys know I personally prefer the slimmer silhouettes, but especially worn with boots it makes for a nice change of pace every now and then. The lighter wash is well combined with lighter earth colors, which I chose to do here in the form of the boots, a trench coat and an oatmeal color sweater.

For the minimalist, the all-black-wardrobe enthusiast, or really anybody who appreciates the look of a clean black pair of denim pants: look number 4. Joe’s Jeans don’t only make stretchy (thus super comfortable) black skinny jeans, they also happen to be the brand of the plaid and the workwear overshirt. This look I finished up with a pair of beat-up leather chucks, for a more rugged vibe altogether.

Last but not least, one of men’s biggest sartorial challenges: the white pant. In this case jeans, of course, from J Brand. I think it’s a lot about tying in the bold white “color” in the look, and managing contrast, which I did with the suede sneakers from Saks Fifth Avenue Collection in house brand, while keeping the upper half much darker with a dark grey turtleneck and a navy denim jacket from J Brand as well.

All five brands offer incredible comfort and style, beyond the 5 chosen pairs that you saw today, and Saks Fifth Avenue is absolutely a prime destination for these quality brands. If you’re in NYC, treat yourself to a little excursion through their denim dialogue, otherwise feel free to check the link below if you’ve fallen in love with anything you saw above!
