Dreams do come true. In this case riding my motorcycle up the PCH/ Highway 1. Lisa and I first did the trip last summer, but we did it in a car, I had the flu, and was pretty badly sunburnt, so the experience wasn’t what one would consider “ideal”. This time around, Moti and I made it up there and took some photos in a parking lot in Malibu somewhere — the beauty of riding a motorcycle is that it’s all about the journey, at least the way I think about it.
I wore a casual outfit to go with the bike for the shoot (since that’s definitely not motorcycle gear) which I thought filled the void of “motorcycle raw” and “dapperly put together”. The boots were important for me in tying the motorcycle component in there. The rust-brown color of the tank is mirrored in the color of my new L.B.M. 1911 blazer, which I wore on top of a merino wool sweater. Believe it or not, it was still pretty nippy out there, even though now it’s probably in the 80s every day. A nice little highlight are the golden reflective shades, one of my favorite pairs right now by Persol.
