“Was ist eigentlich Coney Island?” Das hatte ich mich gefragt, als ich hier vor circa drei Jahren hergezogen bin und ein Paar Leute davon hab reden hören. Ich glaub ich hatte es vielleicht schonmal in dem einen oder anderen Flm gesehen gehabt, hatte aber trotzdem keine Ahnung was und vor allem wo es denn wirklich ist. Dann bin ich nach Brooklyn gezogen, ‘n ganzes Stück näher an Coney Island dran und hab eben immer wieder von mehreren Ecken gehört, dass es dort draussen irgendwas Spaßiges gibt. Letzten Sonntag war ich dann mein drittes oder viertes Mal dort, aber es war das erste Mal, das der Freizeit Park tatsächlich belebt war und man sich nicht wie in einem Horror-Film vorkam. Jetzt versteh ich auch das ganze Trara darum. Das Kind in mir (, das vermutlich nie erwachsen wird,) hatte den Spaß seines Lebens.
Beim rumbummeln haben wir die Wand entdeckt, optimal für nen Shoot. Meine rote Hose hat farblich super reingepasst und das Outfit allgemein ebenso. Ganz klein im Hintergrund ein Pfeil, der zeigt wo’s zu den Attraktionen geht 😉 Der kurzärmlige Sweater hatte das Tageslicht schon lange nicht mehr gesehn, hatte mir aber sehr gut mit der Chino-Hose gefallen, besonders mit den Turnschuhen. Woooo, Coney Island! I gotta level with you – when I first moved to NYC three years ago, I had never heard of Coney Island ever before in my life. Maybe I had seen it in one movie or another, but really, it didn’t stick. So when I then moved out to Brooklyn, half-way to Coney Island I slowly but surely realized that there was something fun to do all the way down on the coast. We shot this on Sunday, which was my third or fourth time there, but the very first time that it was massively packed and didn’t look like a haunted theme park. I now understood why people always went on about it. My inner child (, which will live forever long,) was loving all of it.
We made a turn around a corner and I saw this wall – location, check. It happened to really work with the red of my pants, and the casual look I had going on anyway, with a “subtle” arrow in the background pointing out where the rides are at 🙂 I hadn’t worn this short-sleeve sweatshirt in quite a while, but liked it a lot with a pair of chinos, as well as the sneakers.
