PROJECT SOLE – Sneaker Selects

Hallo Leute!

Alright, let’s take a look! PROJECT NYC has kicked off, and I’m going to take a closer look at PROJECT SOLE with my first 4 posts to start it off. I have strolled around and picked my favorites out of all the brands present, based on four groups; number one is “Sneakers”. Remember that most of this is what you’re going to see for next FALL. Let’s go through it style by style:

This all-white high-top by Vlado is absolutely genius, if you ask me. The LA-based company has tons of very up-to-date and loud footwear, I personally loved this tuned down one; the zippers make it super interesting, and you can even take the top part of completely if you feel like it. All white is daring for the fall-season, but on the west-coast, absolutely doable!

Really impressed with this company, Royal Elastics, with awesome, modern and cool-looking footwear. I really like this one with the straps criss-crossing the shoe, yet another high-top like we see above. Definitely a stylish option for any look that is more streets-y, grungy look!

From the same company, we have this absolutely stunning low-top (my favorite sneaker in the entire exhibition). The elastic houndstooth fabric is standing out all on its own, but the elastic straps and the leather patches make it an absolutely perfectly put together piece, that you could rock wit ha light gray suit, just as well as with jeans and a white T.

PROJECT_140121_3609EditTRETORN

Tretorn might not be a company you’re super familiar with, but this pair of sneakers is great for the transition from late summer into early fall. A similar aesthetic as skater shoes, yet with clean and slim lines make it casual, yet also allow for them to be dressed up. The deep ocean blue is awesome to combine with light colors as well as darker ones, making it very versatile.

PROJECT_140121_3613EditDIADORA

Diadora. Not as prominent in the US as it is in Europe. I grew up knowing the brand, just because I grew up in Germany and played soccer at an early age. To me, this is an iconic and traditional hi-top, in a flashy blue that will definitely stand out.

Last but not least I found this fantastic label called Ransom. They’re essence is very sportsy, but remains 100% on trend. I loved this style, as it is the silhouette of the running shoes we’ve been seeing around a lot, but at the same time it’s updated since they used a different fabric than we’ve seen.

And lastly we have a mix of a running shoe and a chukkah boot, also from Ransom, in black and white. This also marries casual dressed-upness with an athletic aesthetic, creating a comfortable shoe to wear with anything.
