Stone Island – another Italian brand, whose presence in America is not quite what it should be yet, in my opinion. Stone Island is where fashion meets functional outerwear, with a root in ski-wear. So what does that mean? Stone Island uses technological fabrics, that will keep you warm, yet are breathable, resist water but still feel nice. If you want to read more about the technologies used, you can read it on their website. Bottom line is, you can wear this clothing on a rainy day, in a storm or on a mountain while skiing. Obviously, we all still want to dress to impress, no matter what the activity of choice for the day might be, and no matter the weather condition. The brand strives to offer all of us nice fits, ranging from more modern to rather traditional, in poppy colors as well as subtle darker shades, that are on on trend. With a variety of bottoms, knits and jackets, Stone Island allows you to combine the collection and wear it basically head to toe. Fun seasonal prints keep it interesting, on pants and jackets alike.
Stone Island Shadow is their higher end collection, which focuses on movement. So much so, that they have their fit models pose in several positions, and make the pattern based on all of those, instead of just using a standing model. Lots of unfinished, rougher edges, with slim silhouettes, and mostly achromatic, the collection definitely delivers a higher end feel.
Take a few minutes to take a look at what they do online, I know it won’t be any time wasted.
P.S. the body of the one jacket that I am wearing turns black as the temperature drops. How cool is that???

Great photos. The research and development techniques that they use are a match for any brand. Providing the brand can lose its reputation as a label that is only worn by football (soccer) supporters, which it does seem to be doing, Stone Island will go from strength to strength
Where do you live? I hadn’t heard of that perception – it’s an interesting one. I mean I grew up in Germany, but now live in the US. I’m sure it doesn’t have that reputation here, but I wasn’t even aware of that back in Europe. Would be a shame – I agree their product is fantastic!
