Yet another inspiration for you guys if you’re looking for great clothes on a budget: Forever 21 is where it’s at. With this look, I wanted to play with untraditional layers, where the key piece is the vest, even though it’s just peaking out. Usually, you wouldn’t expect it underneath a toggle coat, but the casual fabric with the speckles, and styling it unbuttoned make it a wonderufl mid-layer, even for a casual look like this. The shirt is a classic Gingham, which really works all the time, and I’m brightening up the look with the lighter grey chinos — not sure whether you noticed, but the inside edge of the fabric has a tiny dark red stripe, similar to what you have on selvedge denim, and that was my incentive to wear the Bordeaux boots … sometimes, it’s the tiniest of details that make a difference 😉
